RESEARCH DEADLINE APPROACHING!

Your next deadline is for your research and analysis of thriller film openings on 

Sunday Feb 2nd midnight.

 
You must post at least 4 different openings  (not trailers!) each, analysing the full range of film techniques used by each (camera shot size, angle and movement, mise en scene, editing and sound; character construction, narrative/story order and themes. 

In addition, it must be presented in a blog format.  - images, video, sub headings, use of  colour, vary size of font, hyperlinks, bullet points etc etc.

THE DEADLINE FOR THE SOUND PRACTICAL HAS NOW PASSED (FRIDAY 24th)

Well done to these groups I supervise that have completed:
Josh, Holly, Chris
Becky, Beth, Megan (though yours has been removed from youtube for breach of copyright images!)
Olivia, Natalie, Ettie
Luke, Jack, Maisie

Antonio, Chesky, Katie - I think yours is done, but there's no sound on the blog version. Can you check this and re-post if necessary? Also, you need to explain what you have done - sources etc as in brief.


The following groups that I supervise don't appear to have completed this task, and so have already lost marks for time management:
Morgan, Phoebe, Sophie (and there are issues with your prelim which must be resolved immediately)
Abbie, Ella, Charlotte, Euan (no posts so far this term, and therefore also no prelim posted to the blog!)

THE FINAL DEADLINE FOR THE PRELIMINARY TASK HAS NOW PASSED. LATE WORK MUST BE UPLOADED WITHOUT DELAY

All but 2 groups have posted the final preliminary task film by the final deadline. Well done to you all!
THE GROUPS THAT HAVE NOT, MUST DO SO WITHOUT DELAY, TO AVOID GETTING BEHIND IN THE MAIN TASK. NO FURTHER CLASS TIME WILL BE ALLOWED FOR THE PRELIM WORK.
LATE WORK IN THE MAIN TASK WILL RESULT IN MARKS BEING DEDUCTED FOR TIME MANAGEMENT (SEE MARK SCHEME).

SOUND PRACTICAL TASK

 

Friday 24th January

Your sound Practical needs to be completed by week on Friday.

Make sure that you have included :-

1. 4 SFX from Garageband
2. 1 X Music soundtrack from Garageband
3. 1 X Music soundtrack from a Copyright free source (see list of websites for this on H/O and display in editing suite)
4. Create atleast one FOLEY EFFECT yourself using the voice recorders.

This all needs to be uploaded to your blog

1. The completed task as a an embedded video
2. A clear documentation of you doing the task and how you did it!

Ask for help if you can't work it out.

YOUR FINAL VISION AND SOUND EDITING DEADLINE FOR THE PRELIMINARY TASK IS APPROACHING FAST! THERE WILL BE NO EXTENSIONS ON THIS DEADLINE, AND LATE WORK WILL SIGNIFICANTLY DELAY YOUR START TO THE MAIN TASK, AND MAY NEVER BE RECOVERED.

THIS WEEK YOU WILL BE DOING THE MOCK IN YOUR DOUBLE LESSON.
SOME LESSONS WILL ALSO BE USED TO TEACH SOUND THEORY AND PRACTICAL SOUND SKILLS.
YOU MUST THEREFORE EXPECT TO FILM AND EDIT IN YOUR OWN TIME.
EVERY STUDENT IN SHOULD BE PRESENT FOR THE EDITING TO DEVELOP SKILLS, SO CHECK WHEN YOU ARE FREE.
THE FINAL DEADLINE FOR THE PRELIM TO BE FULLY EDITING AND UPLOADED TO YOUR BLOG IS: 17TH JANUARY - 2 WEEKS TIME!
